French counter-strike team re-signs French star and celebrates by putting him on a golden turret in front of the Eiffel Tower.

French esports club Team Vitality has announced that Counter-Strike star Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, who helped win a CS:GO major, has re-signed with the Parisians through 2026. And Vitality is thrilled with the news.

The team decided on only one thing for this announcement: Zywoo is French and a champion of AWP-ers; Vitality is a French esports organization, and arguably the team's greatest moment was winning the Paris Major last May.

Vitality therefore announced the player's new contract by seating him on a golden throne made of Counter-Strike guns with the Eiffel Tower in the background.

Vitality later posted a tribute video to the player:

The team then posted a close-up photo of the throne itself: the AWP is at the highest point of the throne, and Zayou appears to have been given a crown made of bullets. It is not clear what the golden skull is. Overall, it looks like someone 3D printed a model of a gun and spray painted it gold, but is there a golden throne made of counter-strike guns?

"I am so proud to be working with Team Vitality and to continue to wear these colors. I want to thank you all for your support, it means a lot to me. We're going to win a lot of trophies with this great team and our fans.

Vitality knows exactly how he feels about re-signing Giau: "The best players stay in Paris. It's fantastic. In addition to the throne, Vitality unfurled a huge banner from the Eiffel Tower and placed a billboard ad in Paris with enthusiastic Ziou stats: "10 S-tier titles, major championships, 2 HLTV Player of the Year, 18 MVP awards."

When it comes to Counter-Strike 2, Team Vitality has become the team to beat. There will be no shortage of challengers, but by retaining their most valuable asset, the French champions have made a major statement of intent.
