CD Projekt Red always brings special attention to the details of that game: I remember my shock at learning about the Witcher 3 Easter Egg that takes years in the game to find. That same sensibility definitely holds strong in Cyberpunk 2077, where you can actually find the character of Idris Elba, added to the game with Solomon Reed— Phantom Liberty expansion— a nightshade that cares about his own business before you start the main quest for Phantom Liberty. It is hidden in a tea room.
Youtube's Madd Gamer shared a video of the encounter late last year. In an early conversation with Reid, the new US superspy is more of his neat little character on the phone before explaining that he has a day job as a bouncer to help keep the cover, but can actually bounce (almost) by Reid before knowing who he is. It's a good idea.
Not terribly far away either of the leads: The bar in which he works also serves as the home base of the Fixer (read: questgiver) Dino Dinovic. Most fixer quests are only handled on the phone, but to middlemen all over the city, you can do a little role play with respect.
Reid was a little incognito at work, wearing a baseball cap and glasses, but he left his signature trench coat at home. He also doesn't have much to say either, just the general "look at it, babu" NPC barks. I now have this intrusive image of the Golden Globe-winning actor Idris Elba in the studio recording "Have heard of the High Elves - Level Filler dialogue." It's a good idea to have a good time with your friends and family.
This Easter egg is a pretty small one, but it's still such a cool detail and definitely could have gotten away with not including CDPR, but the fact that the team didn't have to do it is what makes its inclusion more impressive.
