The Tomb Raider series, which was first rumored more than a year ago, is now official: Hot on the heels of its hit Fallout show, Prime Video has officially announced plans for a new series based on Tomb Raider games.

The new series is written and produced by Phoebe Waller Bridge, known as the creator of the comedy series Fleabag, and the original showrunner and head writer of Killing Eve; she is also an actor and has written and directed films and tv shows including Indiana Jones and Destiny Dial and Solo. He will appear on the TV show: Star Wars Story as the voice of L3-37.

As to who will portray Lara Croft in the series, following in the footsteps of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, remains a mystery for now.

"With a great IP, the possibilities are endless," said Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games. "The richness and depth of fiction has allowed Prime Video's Tomb Raider series and Amazon Games' video games to tell separate stories about Lara Croft's adventures, and we are honored that Crystal Dynamics commissioned this iconic franchise to Amazon, and we are excited to see where this collaboration will take us." It is certainly like you say in a press release of a low-information company, and I personally believe that the story of the Tomb Raider is either rich or deep, but the success of the Fallout series brings some advantages of doubt in this regard to Amazon. Fallout is an interesting setting in nature, but Tomb Raider's loose strictures aren't so much tied to the demands that arise from the game world and its norms, so creatively soft on Waller-Bridge and the company
