One of the easiest raids in Final Fantasy 14 is accidentally turned into a hard-mode turbo due to a bug, wiping out the entire group.

"Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail" has been released, a new story has begun, the level cap has been raised, and one of the easiest missions in the game, the savage raid, has occurred. [This raid is a level 50 raid, consists of 24 players, and can be played with kid gloves.

The problem concerns the final boss of the raid, Amon. He is equipped with a technique called Curtain Call, which results in an instant KO for anyone caught in its path. The only way to avoid it is to hide behind the three ice blocks that spawn on a random player just before he casts his death spell.

However, right now Amon is not actually generating the ice blocks, and the player is still frozen, but hiding behind the ice blocks does nothing. As you can imagine, this is a bit of a problem. There doesn't seem to be any way to avoid the entire party being wiped instantly, so getting through Amon and clearing the rest of the raid is a bit of a challenge.

Thankfully, "Final Fantasy 14" players are used to clearing dungeons and raids in ways that aren't always the case because they are not prone to giving up. From completing missions without job stones to one content creator clearing the first dungeon in Dawntrail without a healer, it's in our blood to play the game in unconventional ways that would make Yosi-P wag his finger and shake his head in disappointment.

One strategy is to have one healer die before the curtain call happens, and the other healer unleashes a resurrection spell just as the hammer falls. In "Final Fantasy 14," resurrection must be accepted. This means that if the timing is right, a healer who dies intentionally can accept resurrection and resurrect at the moment the other healer falls, and either begin resurrecting himself or, if he is lucky, immediately resurrect the entire party with a level 3 limit break.

According to some Reddit players, this tactic is a bit difficult but possible; Swiftcast is helpful, but the 60-second cooldown is only useful if you have to revive 23 of your party before Amon beats you to death. One Redditor also claims to be able to kill Amon before the curtain call happens.

There is, of course, the option of abandoning the mission and the last 10 minutes of hardship. However, there is no guarantee that the next time I try the Alliance Raid Roulette, I won't immediately fall back into Syrcus Tower hell. For now, I think I'll stay out of the raid and dive deeper into the Dawntrail storyline. It is safer this way.
