Elden Ring Maestro Wins Battle of the Bands in "Dozen Challenges" as He Took on Shadow of the Eld Tree's Rust Boss on Saxophone

I've been happily proud (and afraid) of the Elden Ring community since the first and last DLC for the Elden Ring was released last month, and Shadow of the Erdtree's final boss is, naturally, a spoiler in From Software's rogue's gallery. It looks like it should be a legendarily difficult encounter, sharing the throne with the infamous Malenia (the Blade of Miquella, according to sources).

I personally spent an entire Sunday trying to beat him. Of course, the wider community proved my scrappiness by styling him in parry, surviving every attack, and deploying a bottle of perfume. I should have known that spraying cologne on a legendary warrior was the best strategy.

To follow up on my wounds, this time someone hit me with a saxophone. Like Prometheus, the metaphorical eagle continues to peck at my liver on a daily basis.

YouTuber and streamer Dr Decomposing (who goes by Dr Doot on Twitter) followed up last August's no-hit saxophone with Promised Consort, using only jazz power and a mind-boggling controller setup! took on Radahn (thanks, IGN).

"Everyone told me how impossible the final boss of Shadow of the Eldest Trees would be," boasts this master doctor, rightfully so." Outrageous movesets, impossible dodges, and more: ...... In saxophone, I only had 12 attempts."

A dozen attempts. Yeah, that stings. For those wondering how Dr.Decomposing controls his snazzy Tarnished with music, each input is mapped to a different sound (as explained in his Twitch). In the video above, when faced with Ladarn's phantom blow, he makes good use of the "deflecting hard tier" to block the nightmarishly hard attack at the right time.

As for his build, Dr. Decomposing uses the aforementioned Hardtear, which basically turns the game into Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for a few minutes, combined with the Carian Thrusting Shield: "The Carian Thrusting Shield" has WILD scaling on STR if you make it Heavy. With that + Deflect Tear + Guard Counter Boost Talisman, you can be an absolute powerhouse of a tank build if you learn when to attack."

This is the best and most effective strategy from all the brutal experiences I know about this boss. It is possible to dodge roll through everything, but it is also very difficult. Now all we have to do is watch someone kill him with a dance pad.
