The Logitech G Pro wireless gaming mouse has been a staple on my gaming desk for many years. At first, as the mouse I used primarily for gaming when I wasn't doing other reviews. Then, when the Logitech G Pro X Superlight was released, it became the mouse I used to benchmark new chips on the PC Gamer test bench. I still use it semi-regularly for the same tasks.
From this, one might get the message that the Superlight is the gaming mouse to buy. I'm all for that opinion, but it costs $100. The Superlight 2 is still around $160. For all people that would be impossible.
For those who want something cheaper, this Pro Wireless bargain is solid; it's available at Best Buy for $61.
The Pro Wireless comes with a sleek shell molded to accommodate FPS games, but is suitable for most genres; inside the Pro Wireless is the superb Hero sensor, familiar from recent Logitech gaming mice. The Pro Wireless is a great choice for the most demanding of gamers. It is reliable, fast, and works on all surfaces.
The Pro Wireless has several advantages over the Superlight: a DPI indicator and DPI button make it easy to see at a glance which DPI mode you are in, and it can be set up to 25,600, which can be easily toggled with a button on the bottom of the mouse. As the name implies, this feature is sadly absent from the Superlight, which has abandoned many things in favor of a lighter frame.
The Pro Wireless is also ambidextrous, making it suitable for left-handed friends. At the very least, left-handed friends who have not yet learned to use a mouse with their right hand will be able to use this mouse.
Finally, the Pro Wireless has RGB lighting. This is just the logo and DPI indicator, which is mostly hidden by the palm of your hand during gaming, but it's a bit of a special touch that the Superlight doesn't have at all.
So it is certainly not Superlight. But it is a very good mouse in more ways than just its light weight. This mouse weighs only 80 grams. It is hardly a heavyweight. If you really want the lightest mouse, I use the Turtle Beach Burst II Air, which is surprisingly well suited for competitive gaming. Only 47 grams and $100. phwoar.
