Arkane Studios founder Raphael Colantonio will reveal more details in the next few days about the new WolfEye Studios, which he co-founded after leaving Arkane in 2017, and fans of his previous first-person games will be happy He said they will be happy.

Colantonio founded Arkane in 1999 and delivered a small but enduring masterpiece with the Ultima Underworld-inspired "Arx Fatalis." He followed that up with the excellent "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic," which did not receive the recognition it deserved, and then "Dishonored," which put Arkane on the map. He left Arkane after the release of the underrated Prey and founded Wolf Eye, which released Weird West in 2022, a game that successfully blended the immersive sim and isometric RPG genres.

In 2023, Colantonio's Wolf Eye colleague (and fellow Arkane veteran) Julien Roby announced that the studio had signed a deal with venture fund Galaxy Interactive to develop a "more ambitious" new game.

"I'll reveal more about the next game in a few days," Colantonio tweeted today." Fans of the previous first-person games I was involved with ("Dishonored" and "Prey") will be pleased."

Frankly, whatever WolfEye comes out with, I'm already happy just hearing about it. For the record, I've been a big fan of Arkane's work from the beginning, and I was skeptical about "Weird West" because it was a third-person immersive sim that wasn't going to be very, very immersive, but I was quickly drawn in and it far exceeded my expectations.

I had to admit that I was a little disappointed that Colantonio did not mention his earlier work in today's tease: "I could have mentioned it. But I have a limited number of characters in my tweets." I'm really excited.

Robbie and Wolf Eye also joined in the teasing:

Unfortunately, whatever Wolf Eye reveals when the time comes, it seems unlikely that we will get a detailed look at the new game: according to Colantonio, the studio is showing it to "industry partners" but, they have not yet shown it to the press or the public. Colantonio said the studios have been shown to "industry partners," but not yet to the press or the public.
