Blizzard updates “Heroes of the Storm” almost monthly.

Blizzard's belated entry into the genre gets my vote for Heroes of the Storm, which was born out of an old Warcraft mod; HotS is a great game, but a little too late to make a real impact. Then and now League of Legends and Dota 2 dominated the field, and despite Blizzard's best efforts and a 2017 reboot as HotS 2.0, development began to end.

Much can be said about the path HotS has taken since its release in 2015, but I think it is undeniable that Blizzard truly supported the game and to the point where it is no longer truly viable. 30 or so The game started with 90 characters and now boasts 90, with maps, modes, and plenty of other additional content; one of the stranger aspects of HotS is that players feel that 2.0 has not been monetized enough.

That said, even though HotS is in maintenance mode, Blizzard continues to work on the game and release regular updates. While there is certainly no new content, seasonal events, mode rotations, and fairly in-depth balance patches continue.

The latest was released two days ago, and the content is so extensive that it took me about 10 minutes just to look through the list of fixes and tweaks. [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] [...] Some will say HotS is dead, others will say long live Heroes of the Storm.
