To Avoid Cyberpunk 2077, Factorio 1.0 Released One Month Early

Factory game "Factorio" gets release date pushed back over a month to coincide with the postponed "Cyberpunk 2077" Wube Software, which had announced a September 25 release date, has decided to move it up to August 14. This means that fans will get Factorio 1.0 more than a month early.

Factorio's decision to change its release date comes on the heels of Cyberpunk 2077's release being pushed back to September 17. To avoid conflicting with perhaps the biggest game release of the year, Wube moved up the launch. This is because the weeks following the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 will likely be completely dominated by news about and around cyberpunk, to the near exclusion of other news.

Rather than a further delay, changes were made to the content of the 1.0 release. For example, the decision to cut the single-player story campaign and many of the planned changes to Factorio's interface Wube said in his blog, "The general feeling in our office is that the game is nearly complete and we want to release it as soon as possible. We want to release it as soon as possible. The sooner we get version 1.0 done, the sooner we can start thinking of fun and exciting new things to do."

With so much already in Factorio, one can only imagine what else is new: Factorio is probably the most successful factory game on the market, a sprawling simulation that starts with an axe chopping wood and ends with nuclear power and rockets into space! Factorio is a game that is a little more than just a game, but a game of the imagination. As of last year, it was in the top 100 PC games.

Factorio can be checked out and purchased for $30 on Steam or on gaming websites.
