This overclocked Radeon RX 5700 sells for as low as $310.

Newegg is offering the Asus Radeon RX 5700 Evo Edition graphics card for $309.99. This is the price after entering promo code VGAPCJY284A at checkout. This discount makes this the least expensive 5700 available.

Of course, if you can afford to wait for the next generation of GPUs from AMD (RDNA 2) or Nvidia (Ampere) later this year, you should definitely do so. If you need to upgrade more quickly, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

Models on sale are factory overclocked. In game mode, the base clock is 1,515MHz (up from 1,465MHz), the "game" clock is 1,675 (up from 1,625MHz), and the boost clock is 1,750MHz (up from 1,725MHz).

These are all modest overclocks, but there is a preconfigured OC mode that pushes it further: in OC mode, the Evo Edition card has a base clock of 1,565MHz (+100MHz over reference), a game clock of 1,720MHz (+95MHz) and the boost clock is the same 1,750MHz (+25MHz).

To keep temperatures down, Asus opted for a dual-axis fan cooling solution with "longer fan blades and unique barrier rings to increase air pressure."

Asus also claims to subject these cards to a 144-hour verification program with a series of "rigorous tests."

In general, the 5700 is faster than the GeForce RTX 2060 (without ray tracing); it is a good choice for playing games at 1080p or 1440p.
