Mice and keyboards go together like peanut butter and jelly: buy a Razer Huntsman Tournament Edition keyboard for $129.99 at Best Buy and get a Razer Viper gaming mouse worth $79.99 at no extra charge! Comes with.
The main difference between the seven-month-old Huntsman Tournament Edition and the Elite model, one of the best gaming keyboards available, is the elimination of a dedicated number pad and a shorter profile. This is also known as a tenkeyless (TKL) keyboard. While not ideal for numeric input, the compact design is useful when desk space is limited or when a smaller keyboard is desired for gaming.
Razer's Huntsman TE uses "linear optical" keyswitches. Instead of relying on metal contacts, there is an infrared beam under the keys that records keystrokes. As a result, when a key is pressed, it is activated almost instantaneously. In our experience, this switch works very well.
As for the Razer Viper, it's a great gaming mouse overall; built for esports, it has a 16,000 DPI sensor and, as we noted in our review, is an overall comfortable design if you don't mind an ambidextrous mouse.
Like the Huntsman TE keyboard, the Viper employs rays in the form of optical mouse switches, which Benjamin Abbott tested and found to be "one of the quickest clicks I've experienced. Moreover, it requires very little force to press the buttons.
In short, it's the perfect mouse for gaming.
