The wonderful Dirt Rally 2.0 is out of season activity, but a new game is in the works, according to a post on the Codemasters forum.
"No season additions are planned for DiRT Rally 2.0, but some minor updates and surprises are in the works. At this stage, the rally team is focused on the future," the post reads. Regular challenges will continue, esports competitions will continue, and the community website will remain open.
Meanwhile, there appear to be two games in production: one is part of the "Dirt" series and is being produced by another Codemasters studio. It appears to be imminent and will probably be a departure from the traditional rally." Get ready to see something new roar into the DiRT world, soon."
The post continues: "As for the future of DiRT Rally? Well... We have a few things in mind. We have big plans, driven by a passionate development team, tasked with nothing but to take the rally series to new heights. We won't hear about it for a while, but when we do, we'll be at ...... Oh no, it will be exciting to see what is to come."
Oh dear! More Dirt is good news. The Rally 2.0 review gave it a high score of 87. Phil calls it "simply the best rally sim out there, and it builds on the great foundation of its predecessor."
