"Myst" may be getting a TV adaptation; Deadline reports that Village Roadshow has hired "X-Men: First Class" writer Ashley Edward Miller to write the pilot and produce the show.
According to the report, Village Roadshow intends to develop the most interesting aspect of "Myst" - the "mythology" of the game. Apparently, the studio wants to develop a "multi-platform world that includes movies, scripted and unscripted television content."
In case you missed it, Myst was phenomenally popular in the 1990s; although it was released two months earlier than Doom, the shooter failed to overturn Myst's commercial dominance; by 1993 standards, the graphics were impressive and the CD-ROM drive's large functioned as a unit shifter. Hopefully the Vaporwave soundtrack will be included.
