AMD has released a new Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.1.4 GPU driver with optimizations for Warcraft 3: Reforged. According to the release notes, owners of Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics cards can expect performance gains of up to 11% with the latest driver compared to the previous 20.1.3. [The same is also true for AMD's Vega (Radeon VII, etc.) and Polaris (Radeon RX 500/400 series) cards; AMD presented only one performance claim: "The Radeon RX 5700 XT Graphics cards are not as good as the Radeon VII cards. [20.1.4 The driver is also optimized for Journey to the Savage Planet. It also includes the usual bug fixes, including several related to the Vulkan API. Here is the full list:
One encouraging thing is that the number of issues addressed in the recent Adrenalin driver release continues to decrease compared to the first overhaul introduced in late 2019. In theory, this means that AMD has made some progress in eliminating most of the remaining bugs in the first few driver releases.
