"The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics" will be released on February 4, bringing the grim and whimsical world of the original film and Netflix series to the PC. In this game, you lead the Gelfling resistance and unite the clans against the calamitous carcars of the evil Skeksis through "50 unique turn-based tactics RPG battles." Reminiscent of Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics, players can assign "jobs" to Gelflings to gain new abilities and equipment. Characters appearing in the game are several from the original film and several from the Netflix series. The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics will be developed by BonusXP and published by En Masse Entertainment. Originally announced for release last year, the game was pushed back to this year.
The Dark Crystal and a tactics game may seem like an odd combination, but after the success of the Mario and Rabbids-led tactics game, I'm ready to try anything The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics is available on Steam, GOG, and En Masse launchers for $19.99, £15.49, or $28.95 AUD, or dare I say it, $22.79 CAD. I do.
