In the latest issue of Famitsu, Hideo Kojima and Yoji Shinkawa of Kojima Productions wax nostalgic about the development of "Death Stranding" and offer some ideas for the studio's direction now that the first game is finished.
Dualshockers found that Kojima wants to try his hand at smaller, episodic games as well as time-wasting epics like "Death Stranding. Sam's journey across the U.S. has touched me deeply, so I don't begrudge him spending 70 hours on it, but I'd like to play a game from Kojima Productions that doesn't ask you to put your life on hold.
Kojima has already touched on this endeavor a bit in "Ground Zeroes," the prologue to "The Phantom Pain." It takes place in a black site camp in Cuba and takes place over the course of one night. Although much smaller in scale, it was reminiscent of the first two "Metal Gear Solid" games and felt like the purest stealth game of the bunch.
The studio plans to work on several game projects, including another major title, but what form that will take remains to be seen. Kojima said he hopes to make a game that uses more mechas, which is Shinkawa's forte. Outside of games, the two also hope to draw manga together.
Death Stranding is not yet available on PC, but it will be soon. It is scheduled to be released this summer.
