It's been a while since we heard news about Baldur's Gate 3, the long-awaited sequel to what is widely regarded as one of the best RPGs of all time. That's because developer Larian Studios (best known for "Divnity: Original Sin") has announced that something will be announced on Thursday, February 27.
While this teaser shows nothing of the game itself, it does give a glimpse of some of the work that went into the game's creation. Motion capture sessions, artists at work, location recording on the beach - it all goes by very quickly. There are also glimpses of actors wearing face capture rigs, perhaps suggesting a more cinematic approach that the old top-down Infinity Engine style games could not accommodate.
Regardless, Larian Studios has more than proven with its "Original Sin" series that it can handle a legacy as large as "Baldur's Gate." It is still unclear what Larian has in store for us, but whatever they have to show us will probably be remarkable.
