This 27" 144Hz gaming monitor is down to $300 at Best Buy

If it's time to upgrade your gaming monitor, today is a pretty good day, as MSI's 27-inch FreeSync monitor, the Optix MAG27CQ, is on sale at Best Buy for $299.99. That's a $100 discount off the original MSRP, but it has recently sold for about $350 from a third-party seller on Amazon.

The monitor has a curved 27-inch anti-glare LED display panel, a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz, a resolution of 2560x1440, horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 178 degrees, and AMD FreeSync support. There are HDMI and DisplayPort inputs on the back for connecting just about anything.

The display uses a vertically aligned (VA) panel, so colors are not as vibrant as in-plane switching (IPS) monitors, but they are still better than the twisted-nematic (TN) gaming monitors often found in this price range.

This monitor does not officially support Nvidia G-Sync, but there are reports of it working fine with Nvidia graphics cards when the option is manually enabled in the GeForce Now settings panel.
