Next location for "Fallout 76" is a fortified parking garage beneath an abandoned city

Welcome to Watoga, the city of the future! Unfortunately, the future has been so heavily nuked that the only thing habitable in Watoga today is the series of automated parking garages the city was built on. And those parking lots are probably filled with raiders. Sorry.

This is from a bit of information Bethesda released about Wastelanders, the next expansion for Fallout 76. This expansion will add human NPCs to the game for the first time, but these NPCs need a place to live. Watoga Underground is one such place, and judging by the skull banners, the spikes lining the escalators, and the tattered banner that reads "Leave or Die," it appears that some raiders have made it their home.

"Watoga, the city of the future, is envisioned as a bustling, walkable metropolis, free of illegally parked cars, traffic jams, and hit-and-run accidents," Bethesda says.

"The city is built on top of a massive automated parking system where citizens can leave their cars and store them until they need them again.

Below are some screenshots and concept art for Watoga Underground, and while we have not yet heard a specific release date for the Wastelanders expansion, Bethesda says it is "coming soon," so in the very near future, future parking lots, past parking lots may be explored.

Also, if you've been playing Fallout 76 lately or are looking for a reason to play again, there's a double XP event running from January 9 to January 13.
