You don't need a trunk full of gold bars to replace your 4K gaming monitor; there are more affordable entries into the ultra-high-resolution realm than more expensive models like Acer's Predator XB273K. If you're looking for one, check out LG's 27-inch 4K IPS display (model 27UD68-P).
Like Amazon, BuyDig has it marked down to $329.99. However, if you apply coupon code JCB15 at checkout on BuyDig, the price drops another $60.99 to $269. This is a great bargain for a 4K gaming monitor and the lowest we've seen this model priced on sale.
Naturally, there are compromises when compared to similarly sized 4K displays that sell for three to four times the price. In this case, the refresh rate is 60Hz instead of the Predator XB273K's 144Hz, and HDR is not supported. Of course, since the Predator costs $1,249, these features impose a significant premium on that model.
However, when paired with a Radeon graphics card or GPU, FreeSync is supported to keep the action smooth and tear-free. And this is an IPS display that covers "more than 99%" of the sRGB color space (meaning it is generally more color accurate than TN monitors), with a brightness rating of 300 nits and generous viewing angles (178 degrees vertically and horizontally).
In conclusion, this is a really nice 4K monitor at a discounted price.
