The developers of Mutant Year Zero, the Bared Ladies, have announced their next film, Corruption 2029, which is also tactical, but instead of mutant animals, you control super-soldiers sent to save America from a totalitarian regime. Timely! It's due out in a week, on February 17.
The sci-fi soldiers, angular helmets, and dystopian setting are more akin to "XCOM" than "Mutant Year Zero," but the stealth-focused "Mutant Year Zero" is apparently coming back. One of the best parts of "Mutant Year Zero" was scouting before a fight to find sniper spots and hit the enemy's sharp spots, and "Corruption 2029" will allow you to do the same.
Instead of exploring the world in real time as in "Mutant Year Zero," it appears that squads will be sent on individual missions like in "XCOM." What they do in between missions, whether they grow or upgrade their squads, is still a mystery.
While it's nice to see something stealth-like left in the trailer, nothing else in the trailer stands out that much. For a game that is so close to release, not much detail has been revealed yet, but hopefully we'll see some more gameplay before it comes out.
The game, which is sure to please everyone, will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store. In the meantime, take a look at the screenshots.
