Despite the announcement of a sequel last year, Path of Exile will continue to grow in 2020, studio Grinding Gear Games has confirmed. Information is thin on the ground at the moment, but according to a new blog post, the free-to-play ARPG will get four new expansions this year on the usual quarterly schedule.

The first expansion, 3.10.0, will "probably" be detailed late next month. After that, 3.11.0, 3.12.0, and 3.13.0 will be released before the end of the year." The timing of the expansion may differ by a week or two from last year's." To avoid various holidays/events and to make sure there is enough time for the larger ones to be fully tested.

We expect to have more information on Path of Exile 2, formerly known as the 4.0.0 update, in the middle of this year." Development of 4.0.0 continues and the team is hard at work on the content that was not shown at the ExileCon Act One Demo. We expect to show you the next big new content and new features probably around the middle of this year. Maybe around E3? We'll let you know when our plans are finalized."

Steven experienced Path of Exile 2 late last year, and the early prospects are promising.
